Cardijn College Announces Plans for Senior School at Galilee Campus

Cardijn College is proud to share the next stage in the evolution of its Galilee Campus, with Catholic Education South Australia taking the first formal step towards establishing a Reception to Year 12 Catholic education pathway in Aldinga.

Scheduled to open with the first Year 10 cohort in 2028, followed by Year 11 in 2029 and Year 12 in 2030, the proposed Senior School will provide local families with access to a complete Catholic education experience, responding to significant population growth across the Southern Vales region and increasing demand for Catholic secondary education.

The expansion marks an important milestone in the development of Catholic education in Adelaide’s south and reinforces Cardijn College’s commitment to delivering innovative, inclusive and future-focused learning opportunities for young people.

The proposed development will feature purpose-built facilities designed to support contemporary senior schooling, including specialist learning support spaces, a senior library, Science laboratories, an Arts Centre, and dedicated Food Technology and Materials Technology resources.

The master plan has been designed with learning environments that support student growth, wellbeing and success while facilitating consistency of learning and pastoral care throughout the educational journey of each Galilee student.

The Senior School will build on the strong foundations already established at Galilee Campus and further strengthen Cardijn College’s role as a leader in innovative and inclusive education in Southern Adelaide.

For families and community members seeking further information, updates will be shared as the project advances.

Future Vision for Galilee - Our Master Plan

28 May 2025

Cardijn College is proud to announce the launch of a visionary new proposed Master Plan that will transform Galilee Campus in Aldinga into an innovative and sustainable learning environment designed for the future.

The proposed five to ten year Master Plan demonstrates Cardijn College’s ongoing commitment to ecological conversion, student agency, and the wellbeing of all members of our community. Deeply inspired by the principles of “Our Cardijn Way,” the development will create inclusive, adaptable and nature-connected spaces that reflect the College’s mission to nurture faith, learning, and integrity.

Set to begin construction in 2025, Stage 1a of the project will include:

  • Two new covered outdoor courts
  • A purpose-built, six classroom building with integrated outdoor learning environments
  • Car park expansion to accommodate growing student numbers

Eco-design is at the heart of the project, embracing renewable resources, minimising waste, and creating spaces that maximise access to daylight, fresh air, and natural surroundings. The plan also integrates principles of biophilic design, recognising the proven connection between human wellbeing and the natural environment.

Galilee will continue to strengthen Cardijn’s unique identity as a place where every space is a learning space, from flexible classrooms to sensory-rich outdoor areas and collaborative learning villages.
