Information for new families

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you and your familiy to Cardijn College Galilee. When your child begins at Galilee they become part of an institution which strives to be a beacon of faith in the community, with empowered students who have enormous impact on both a local and global level.

We know that parents choose Cardijn College not only for our extensive academic and vocational programs, but also for our pastoral care, focus on student wellbeing and respect for the individual aptitude, personality, culture and heritage of each student. As a community, we are pleased you have chosen this learning journey for your child, and we look forward to working in partnership with you for your child’s education from Reception right through to year 12 and beyond.

We are excited to announce that the new Galilee uniform for Reception to Year 6 students will be available for purchase at LOWES later in Term 4 and can be worn from the beginning of the 2025 school year.

This new uniform represents Galilee’s commitment to providing high-quality, comfortable, and durable uniform items for our students. We have established a two-year phase-in period for the new uniform. During this time, both the current and new uniforms will be acceptable. However, please note that new uniform items cannot be mixed with current uniform items to maintain a consistent appearance.

School Uniforms are available through the Lowes store or via the Lowes online store.

Our second-hand uniform shop is open on Wednesday morning from 8.30am - 9.15am and Wednesday and Friday afternoon from 2.45pm - 3.30pm. The shop is located in the family room transportable behind the church.

College backpacks are available for purchase via the Front Reception. The cost is $55. 

Cardijn College has an inclusive fee structure for students attending each of our three campuses and is based on your child/children’s year level.

The Financial Payment Plan Form is required to be completed and returned prior to your child commencing on 28 January 2025. If you are not intending to pay your fees upfront, a completed direct debit form is required prior to your child commencing with us.

Tuesday 28 January is the first day of term 1 2025. Gates open at 8.30am and class begins at 8.45am. 

Following Community Prayer beginning at 9am on Wednesday 29 January we invite you to join us for a Barista Coffee and a treat, to welcome you to our community. This is weekly event following Community Prayer and we hope you will be able to join us when you can! 

All communication from Cardijn College is sent via email and the occasional text so it is important to ensure we have up to date contact details for you.

A lot happens in our community. The daily life of the College extends beyond the classroom to extra-curricular activities and opportunities to engage with and support our local community.

Excursion, incursion and camp information and consent forms will be delivered to you via Consent2Go. You will receive an email regarding Consent2Go at the beginning of the school year.

OSHC and Vacation Care

Galilee offers out of school hours care (OSHC) onsite in our school hall for students in Reception to Year 6. OSHC opens at 6.30am and provides breakfast and activities for children until 8.30am. OSHC reopens at 3.10pm until 6.30pm where afternoon tea is served and students are entertained with a range of indoor and outdoor supervised activities.

We pride ourselves on being a child-directed service. Children attending Galilee OSHC are encouraged to choose freely from the activities on offer, as well as suggest and create activities and experiences of their own. All the usual options will be made available, such as craft, puzzles, board games, painting, drawing, construction, cubby building, outside games and sports.

OSHC is not available for middle school students however Homework Club will run one night per week to cater for students who require supervision after school hours. More details will be available soon.

Bookings

Galilee utilises a software program called Fully Booked to manage bookings for the OSHC service.

Vacation Care

Galilee OSHC also offers a Vacation Care program throughout the school holiday periods. The program is planned in conjunction with the children of Galilee to ensure a variety of activities including excursions, incursions and popular everyday children's choices.
