Student Information - Year 7 2025

We are excited to welcome you as a Middle School student to Cardijn College Galilee. 

Below you will find some of the information you need to know about starting Middle School at Cardijn College Galilee.  Please click on each section below (scroll across tabs on the top), and complete any forms that are applicable to you, paying particular attention to specific due dates.  

The Middle school day begins at 8.40am each day and concludes at 3.10pm with the exception of Wednesdays which has an early dismissal of 2.25pm.

Homework club operates on Wednesdays from 2.25pm - 3.10pm in the STEM space.

At the beginning of the 2025 school year you will be invited to a parent welcome evening, including the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

We look forward to welcoming our 2025 Year 7 students to the Galilee community on our Transition morning, Monday 2 December 2024. 

The transition visit aims to familiarise students with aspects of the College and to inform them of what will be required to begin the school year. Students should wear their current school PE uniform (including hat). Students are asked to bring their recess and a water bottle with them. Please ensure your child’s most current medical information has been provided to the College, and that your child brings any required medication with them on the day eg EpiPen, asthma puffer etc.

Drop-off
New students should be dropped-off at the Kiss and Drop on How Road at 8.50am for a 9am start. Staff will be present to direct new families.

Existing Galilee Year 6 students should arrive to their year 6 class at normal time. 

Pick-up
At 11.30am, new Galilee students will be dismissed to the Kiss and Drop and Staff will accompany students to the dismissal points. Current Galilee Year 6's will return to their homeroom. 

College backpacks will be available for purchase on Transition Day from 8.00am - 9.30am. Please visit the Front Reception. The cost is $55. At all other times backpacks are available for purchase from Front Reception during business hours.

Students are expected to be in correct Cardijn College Summer uniform on their first day.
Please note that correct footwear for students is a black leather dress shoe.

Cardijn College Second Hand uniform shop is located on the Noarlunga Campus and opening times are Tuesdays 8.30am - 11.30am during term times. Further opening times will be published on our website and social media.

All blazers and skirt orders are to be in by the end of February to ensure availability before the beginning of Term 2.

A small, but growing selection of items is available from the Galilee Second Hand Uniform Shop which is open Wednesday and Friday morning 8.30am - 9.15am and Friday afternoon 2.45pm - 3.15pm.

As part of our learning environment, all students are expected to utilise a laptop within their subjects. Whilst students are welcome to bring their own device, Cardijn College offers a Laptop Lease Program that leverages our high-volume purchasing power.

LAPTOP LEASE PROGRAM INFORMATION

To register participation in the Laptop Lease Program, please view the link below and complete the Laptop Agreement Form by Friday 13 December 2024.

LAPTOP LEASE AGREEMENT FORM

You will receive an email early in the new year regarding the collection of laptops for students. This is anticipated to take place during the second or third week of January 2025.

Cardijn College has an inclusive fee structure for students attending each of our three campuses and is based on your child/children’s year level.

The Financial Payment Plan Form is required to be completed and returned prior to your child commencing on 28 January 2025. If you are not intending to pay your fees upfront, a completed direct debit form is required prior to your child commencing with us.

School Card

All families eligible for School Card are entitled to a 50% reduction in their tuition fees (inclusive of family discount). Forms are available from the Finance Office or online at www.sa.gov.au and must be applied for each year.

All School Card remissions will be applied to fee accounts once approval has been received from the Department for Education.

Families are advised that where school card is applicable, the balance payable after school card discount is to be paid either in full prior to 7 March 2025 or via regular direct debit commencing no later than 7 March 2025.

Medication Agreements

For families with children who require medication during the school day and/or medication outside of normal school hours (camps and overnight stays), we kindly ask that you download and complete the relevant Medication Agreement Form via the link below. These forms are necessary to ensure that we can administer any required medication during camps or overnight stays.

We also request that you make appointments with the relevant medical professionals over the holidays to have the forms completed and ready for the new school year. Completing these steps in advance will help ensure your child’s health and safety while participating in these activities. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

All students in 2025 will begin school on Tuesday 28 January with Middle School students starting at at 8.40am. School concludes at 3.10pm. 

Parents are invited to join us for a barista coffee in the piazza after Community Prayer on Wednesday morning at 9am, which is offered weekly.

 

Nominations are now open for our 2025 Marian campus extra-curricular sports program.

If your child would like to be involved in one or more of the following sports in 2025, please complete our official Online School Sport Nomination & Consent form.

Please note that Galilee campus students who wish to participate in the extra-curricular sports program are required to arrange their own transport for training etc. 

It is preferable to attend, however you can still play games if you are unable to attend training due to transport issues. Additionally you can arrange permission for your child to leave early or arrive late to class due to Cardijn training times.

At Cardijn College, school commences at 8.40am and the day concludes at 3.10pm on Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri. Students will be dismissed early at 2.25pm every Wednesday.
